The National Housing Development Authority officially commenced its operations for the year 2025 during a commemorative event held today (January 1), under the leadership of its Chairman, N.B.M. Ranathunga.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Authority, including General Manager, Engineer K.A. Janaka, along with all staff, participated in this occasion. Following the raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem in remembrance of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country, the official duties were initiated.
In conjunction with the national celebration marking the official commencement of public service for the new year, the public service oath was presented first. It has been expressed that the aspirations for 2025 include the restoration of lost coexistence, economic and social development, modernity, and cultural harmony. The public servants pledged to adhere to the principles of unity, accountability, transparency, and equality, and to remain committed to finding solutions to challenges while safeguarding these standards.
Additionally, the government launched the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative concurrently. This program emphasizes the essential collective commitment and accountability required to create a prosperous nation and a beautiful life.
The National Housing Development Authority, which has addressed the national housing needs for over four decades, aims to implement its vision and mission in 2025 to create comfortable homes and promote safe living conditions.
A special lecture on managing workplace mental health and achieving success in personal and professional life was also organized by the institution's welfare association. This was conducted by Professor Daya Rohana Athukorala. All employees from the main office and district offices participated in this event via Zoom.
