Finance Division Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Finance Division of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) is to implement an efficient and effective financial management system within the organization. This includes preparing the annual budget and final accounts, coordinating with the Ministry, and managing loan recoveries and payments (both development and revolving funds) at the headquarters and all district offices under its purview.
Regarding procurement and warehouse management, the division oversees all procurement-related activities, ensuring continuous supply of office equipment, stationery, and other materials required by NHDA. In addition to these responsibilities, the Finance Division carries out the following tasks:
Responsibilities of the Finance Division
- Preparing the annual accounts by financial regulations and relevant guidelines and submitting them to the Auditor General.
- Obtaining Treasury funds, distributing them to district offices, proper accounting, and reporting.
- Timely submission of income, expenditure, and advance accounts.
- Maintaining and supervising official bank accounts.
- Properly recording and verifying financial transactions.
- Submitting required reports on a monthly, quarterly, and periodic basis as directed by relevant authorities.
- Ensuring the prompt execution of procurement activities in compliance with financial regulations, procurement guidelines, and relevant instructions.
- Establishing and maintaining proper procedures and systems for inventory management, stock maintenance, and asset management.
- Properly accounting for foreign aid receipts and disbursements by agreements and relevant guidelines.
- Reconciling accounts at the district offices and headquarters on a monthly and periodic basis.
- Coordinating with the Ministry, Treasury, and other institutions regarding audit queries, COPE, and COPA reports.
