A group of Indian officials including the Indian High Commissioner recently joined a trip to observe several housing projects in Trincomalee and Batticaloa built under the Grama Shakti Housing Assistance Program initiated by the National Housing Development Authority under Indian aid.  The Government of India has provided assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to a beneficiary family selected for this project. The National Housing Development Authority has provided an amount of Rs. 1 lakh as assistance.
