Duties & responsibilities of Housing Development Division

01. Housing Development Division of National Housing Development Authority systematically carries out implementation & supervision of all the housing development programmes.
  
02.The Division implements the housing development programmes pertaining to the housing development policies of the NHDA, covering all the Divisional Secretariats of districts.
  
03.Initiation of coordination among the Heads of the Institutions, the Divisions of the Head Office & district offices, & also maintenance of relations with the institutions such as external local government institutions & Divisional Secretariats to make the housing development programmes a success. 
  
04.Identification of housing development projects, submission of proposals, preparation of required plans for the housing projects, allocation of funds after submitting the project proposals to the Treasury. 
  
05.The Division has the responsibility of implementing & guiding to obtain the contribution of other divisions, district offices, external state & private institutions to carry out the housing programmes.
  
06.Review of the progress of the programmes under progress, receiving of internal and external consultancy service when necessary, implementation & supervision of projects to achieve the set targets.
  
07.Housing Development Division has the responsibility of coordinating with the foreign states & Non-Governmental Organizations and obtaining the contribution of them after submitting the proposals for the new housing programmes.
  
08.Answering to the questions of parliamentary & advisory working committee.
  
09.Preparation & issue of circulars & guidelines to direct the housing programmes.
  
10.Coordination with relevant associate-institutions to implement the housing programmes.
  
11.Implementation of all the administrative work of the Division.
